Business Mindset Basics | The Branding Series

This is the first post to The Branding Series and it’s all about BUSINESS MINDSET!

You may think that you’re ready to elevate your business but are you really?

It takes more than just a desire to seriously invest in the growth of your business. You have to be ready and still grinding when the fire burns out. When the 1st, 2nd and 3rd failure hits.

Before you make any big changes to your business, check in with your mind. Ensure that your mindset is on track with your goals.

Believe in your brand’s vision!

Your initial idea for your business will change and evolve as you get deeper into the processes of your business. One thing that may not change however is the message, your why. A good business sets up their brand foundation by figuring out their why. (My post on Finding your WHY will be out soon, join my mailing list to know when it’s out!)

Your Why is the foundation of your branding and says a lot about your business mindset. As you hit failures or hard times you may be tempted to do things that go against the values you initially set for your business. Going back to your Why will keep you on track and remind you of what’s important.

Understand that branding isn’t just your logo & colour scheme

I’ve had too many people come to their one-on-one consultation with me and say that they need help with their branding, but when we get into it they’re only concerned about the visuals. Say it with me, Branding isn’t just your logo! It isn’t just your ads. Branding is the life of your business. It’s what makes people believe in your brand in the first place, come back to your brand and become fans of your brand. If you are only concerned with running a business and not building a name for yourself then you’re in the wrong place! And yes, a small business should be concerned with their brand. Branding isn’t just for big corporations and billionaires.

Prepare for some failures

In business no matter how much we plan, we’re going to take some Ls (failures). It’s through failures and altercations, we learn important lessons. Don’t let your ego and stubbornness prohibit your growth though. Just because you got the L doesn’t mean you give up. It doesn’t mean you run away when you were trying something new and go back to your old ways. Pick yourself up, sit and work through why it happened in the first place. Asses the situation and learn from it. Then try again, as many times as it takes.

Remember everyone fails but it’s how you react to said failure that sets people apart.
